So I posted this blog a while ago, but was reminded today of my friend, who has since moved... Actually both of the people in this story have moved and are greatly missed. I have a lot of new visitors here and thought I should share this one with them.
Sooo, anyone who knows me knows I love tellin stories. I have more stories than I can remember, and the great thing is they're all completely true. Sometime even I find them hard to believe, just like the one I'm about to tell you... ENJOY:)
So for those of you don't know Mark aka Potter (my great friend & roommate) and I are real big fans of Man Vs. Wild. Never seen it? Check out this clip:
A couple of weeks ago while watching two episodes back to back, Potter suggests an overnight camping trip. I mean hey why not? I didn't have to work the next day and he didn't have to be until 2pm. So @ 8:30 PM we took off for an adventure into the Angeles Forest.
By the time we get up to the mountains its around 10:30-11. The Fog is INTENSE, and of course I miss the left to get to our destination. So as we drive all the sudden I see a flicker on the side of the road. I stop and start to back up...REAL SMART! As if we haven't all heard the horror stories about young adults driving around in the Angeles Forest. So we back up and sure enough its a dead deer. So sad... but then about 15 feet behind the female deer I see something else, a Fawn! (baby deer) It was just sitting on the side of the road shivering and making a whining sound. What were we to do?? Mark and I were so torn on what to do. Save it? But where would we take it? A vet? A Park Ranger? Who? So we decide to pick her up and take her along for a ride to the nearest animal shelter.
As we drove with this little deer, who we named Chippy, Mark gets on the phone to find out where we can take it. We find a place but a friend tells us that they would most likely euthanize her once we left. We could not let this happen, so Mark got on his Iphone and started researching How to take care of a baby dear. We swung by Ralphs picked up some Goats Milk, and Rite Aid to get a slow flow baby bottle and we were off to our 2 bedroom apartment in West Hollywood.
We got home and made Chippy a lil bed. We made sure it was nice and quite for Chip Chip to get her rest.
The next day I stayed home with Chippy, Ichat-ing with anyone who had video capabilities. Chippy took over West LA. She was the talk of the town!
Then we got the call that the Department of Fish and Game would come and pick her up.
A note for anyone who finds a wild animal, make sure to turn it in within 48 hours of finding it or you will be slapped with a rather sizable fine. "For Your Health"
Around 6 o'clock a very nice lady came and picked up Chippy and she was on her way. She was going to a rehab center for wild animals that may be imprinted. She will be released back into the wild where we found her within a year.
These are the things that only seem to happen to Mark and I... It was quite an adventure. We were happy to save Chippy and she will be greatly missed...
How I missed you all week. Honestly I was probably in the worst shape I've been in, in quite a while after last week at this nutso night @ Cinespace. This week I decided to take it relatively easy... Once again, good times were had by ALL!
I cut it close this week! I got out of the worst DJ Gig I've EVER HAD, and made it to PARC just in time to capture the craziness that was about to go down! Shake the Hand knows how to have a party...
So I headed out on Thursday to Holly's on Wilcox just south of Hollywood Blvd. I had never been before but after a night of laughs, drinks and good vibes all around, I'll be sure to get over there again soon! To see all the Photos click HERE
So a few weeks ago I got to talking with this Dude Alex who runs the boutique, KIN, on Sunset. He asked if I'd be interested in shooting his store for their website. Well a week later I was in there shooting away and we came up with this...
Sorry for the lack of updates friends! Things got kinda hectic last week. I ended up shooting Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday AND Sunday... What a week! But what that does mean is there will be lots of pics to be seen, and when I say that I mean they will be up today! So keep your eyes peeled!
Great times were had by all! Between a cake fight, loud tunes and tons of rabbits being pulled out of hats the place was crazy! Check out the glorious display of Magic put on by our wonderful patrons of Tuesdays @ The Room!
Great times were had by all at PARC, in Hollywood this past Saturday. I wanna thank L.A.TEEF for bringin me in again on such short notice and make sure to check out they're blog HERE
So I got a call late Saturday night to shoot at the Standard on Sunday. I was already booked on a commercial but decided I'd rather sit by a pool all day shoot, eat and drink. I think, actually, I know I made the right choice.
So Sundays @ Cinespace managed to blow my mind again. Between great live rock in the back to the DJ's in the front that place was out of control. Once again we had a bunch of new faces, but all in all per usual, the crowd was great! Here's a peak....
